Keeping children safe in education and Ofsted’s role

There is no magic formula: safeguarding children in schools is about fostering a culture where children come first.

A very useful update from Ofsted, reminding schools of their role during inspection in regard to safeguarding.  Myths and tales will always abound and you may hear worrying comments from other schools and teachers.

This post from Ofsted sets the record straight on what is and what is not expected.  A very useful statement to share with your governors at your next meeting.

Sally was previously and ICT advisor for Staffordshire LA with responsibility for Emerging Technologies, ICT in Literacy, iPads and liaison with the managed services team. She is a highly experienced educator, having worked across the Key Stages in primary school and as a specialist teacher in an EBD school.
